MY
VISION
When I began my practice I just shoved a desk up against the wall and went into business and my practice included just about every area of law. One area, though not a considerable one at the time, was in estate planning, mostly wills and the various legal documents relevant to that field.
At that time very few people, and fewer attorneys, were involved in the Living Trust Business. In fact, after I had been in business a few years and become involved with people’s estates, usually by way of a will and planning with the regard to their assets, I began to look into a better way of protecting my clients’ estates.
Naturally I discovered trusts. I have always been a “Consumer Oriented” person, as I did not get into the practice of law straight out of college, but went back to school in the 70’s. Since I had been involved in business, not only as a consumer but also in the field of real estate sales, it was my goal to be able to do what was right for my customers. I not only developed good business relationships, but, in many cases, also good friendships with many of my customers. I discovered, as I continued this practice in my legal business, this made for a valued and continued relationship with my clients.
When I researched the trust business there was no doubt this was a far more acceptable way to pass on an estate. However, as I was new to the business, I always liked to discuss these issues with my peers, the majority of whom had been in business for many years. When I discussed getting into the Living Trust Business with some of my attorney acquaintances, I was advised not to do it but instead to stick with doing wills, etc., because I would, and I quote, “make more money in the long run by doing wills”. You see, most attorneys, particularly at that time, wanted their probate practice to be their retirement business. In fact, many retired attorneys today rely on this business to support their retirement. Now you know, if you are supporting an attorney’s retirement it is costing you, the client, money.
My philosophy in life has always been to put my clients’ interests first. This has proved to be very rewarding to me, especially today as the majority of my business stems is from existing clients.
My practice is based on providing my clients the most efficient legally acceptable way of protecting their assets not only in passing their estates on to their heirs, but to maximize protection from governmental depravation of their assets. Most people are not aware of the ways and means of doing so that are available to them.
I can promise you that if you come to me as a client, I will always put your interests first in order to give you the most efficient and economical way to handle your legal affairs.
